nothing in it for us...
we win, so what...we were supposed to...we lose then we'll hear it for decades about "that one time TS/RC beat the 'mighty' GC"
this is especially the case in football, baseball and basketball, they only get a certain number of OOD games and why wouldn't you rather play a Science Hill or D-B or be in the Arby's Classic to make your team better (or for football, give you more points) rather than beating up on someone you'll see in regionals

They all used to play each other quite often, but I reckon the school board didn't like the idea as well, and after 96 nobody met again until 01 or 02 when GC and RC met in volleyball.
In the 70s there was even a Scott County basketball tournament between the 3 schools. Its too bad things like that don't happen still today.

GC has played TS the last two years in the regionals or at the state level in boy's basketball.

I guess that kind of makes sense. Like here in Russell County, Honaker and Lebanon don't play Castlewood in football anymore. Why? Because there's not really much in it for anybody anymore. But we still play each other in everything else, everyone wins some and loses some, so its all pretty even.
Who won the BDD finals tonight?
Honaker pulled a big upset over Haysi tonight by a score of 13-8. Haysi beat Honkaer in 5 innings both times during the regular season. But its been that kind of season for Honaker, one day they will get blown out, and then beat the same team the next time they meet.
